Our Approach: Empowering Communities through Non-Formal Education

At Movebe VZW, we believe that learning is not confined to classrooms or formal education. Rather, it is a lifelong journey that takes place in various settings, allowing individuals to continuously develop their skills and knowledge. To achieve this, we employ a wide range of non-formal education methods, designed to be inclusive, practical, and accessible to all.

Among these methods, we place a strong emphasis on job shadowing, a hands-on learning experience that allows participants to immerse themselves in real-world environments. By observing and engaging with experienced professionals, individuals gain valuable insights into new skills and approaches, whether they are learning to implement eco-friendly practices or developing digital tools to enhance community engagement. Through this immersive process, participants are not only learning new competencies but also applying them in practical, meaningful ways.

Our Focus: Sustainability and Digital Competencies

As we move toward a greener and more technologically integrated future, the need for expertise in sustainability and digital skills has never been greater. These competencies are essential for addressing global challenges, from climate change to the digital divide, and for fostering innovation that benefits all of society.

 Sustainability Skills

Movebe VZW is committed to equipping individuals with the knowledge and skills to live and work sustainably. We promote eco-conscious practices across all aspects of life, from reducing waste and conserving energy at home to participating in community-led environmental initiatives. By fostering sustainability competencies, we aim to empower individuals to make informed decisions that contribute to the long-term health of our planet.

Our Green@Home project, for example, offers a series of 36 eco-friendly practice videos that provide practical guidance on how individuals and families can reduce their environmental footprint. These bite-sized, accessible videos are designed to encourage small changes that collectively lead to big impacts, demonstrating how sustainability can be seamlessly integrated into daily life.

Digital Competencies

In today’s digital age, possessing the right technological skills is crucial for personal development, professional success, and active citizenship. At Movebe VZW, we focus on enhancing digital literacy through workshops, job shadowing opportunities, and collaborative projects that bring together individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Digital competencies are not only about technical proficiency; they also involve understanding how to leverage technology for positive social change. Our projects emphasize the importance of using digital tools to foster collaboration, promote inclusion, and drive innovation in areas such as environmental protection and cultural exchange.
